Does any over else love the fact that ‘Post it wars’ has now hit’s Sydney’s George Street? Have no idea what I’m talking about?
Earlier this years French video gaming company Ubisoft created an image of a space invader made out of Post-it notes in their office window. Shortly after, their neighbour, BNP Paribas, responded by creating their own Post-it note art in their office window. Not to be upstaged, Ubisoft responded with a new, slightly bigger and better, Post-it note creation. And before you know it ‘la guerre des Post-it’ began.
Since then, office windows ‘Post-it note’ artwork has sprung up in cities across the world as new companies enter into the battle attempting to outdo each other’s artwork, either in size or ingeniousness. There is a website set up to showcase all of the works but in the last few weeks Post It wars came to George Street in Sydney. There is a secret Facebook group set up to document this, if you ask nicely I’ll add you but in the mean time, here’s one of the best in an undisclosed location in Sydney…
Now I’m left asking will ’3 M’ claim ownership of this social idea and, will the terrace house opposite our office play along if we try and start a ‘Post it war’ in Redfern?
